What information do I collect and how it is used?

Information you voluntarily submit to the website: For example, when you sign up for my newsletter and you give me your email address and your first name. I’ll store that information so I can email you later! Or, if you leave a comment, that information is stored as well.

Information I collect from others: I might get information about you from other sources, for example my Disqus comments.

Automatically collected information: For example, when you visit my website, some information is collected automatically like your IP address, operating system type, browser type, referring website, pages you viewed, and the dates/times when you accessed the website. I also track some events on the page, for example which link you click in my top navigation so I know what’s popular!

  • Disqus – This comment plugin allows you to leave comments on my website. You are able to post either as a guest, via a social account, or with an email login. Please refer to Disqus' privacy policy for further details.
  • Instagram – I have a script installed that allows me to embed Instagram posts.
  • Pinterest – I have a script installed that allows me to embed Pinterest pins.
  • Affilimate – This service tracks clicks on affiliate links. It does not store IP addresses or personal information.

Programmatic advertising

The Website uses Mediavine to manage all third-party advertising on the Website. Mediavine serves content and advertisements when you visit the Website, which may use first and third-party cookies. A cookie is a small text file which is sent to your computer or mobile device (referred to in this policy as a “device”) by the web server so that a website can remember some information about your browsing activity on the Website.
